The Amazing Race 20 Intro

Amazing Race 20

On the 2 hour season finale of The Amazing Race 20 which aired this past Sunday on CBS, the remaining 4 teams flew from Cochin, India to Hiroshima, Japan.  Teams then went to the Hiroshima Peace Park which is located at the site where the world's first nuclear bomb landed in 1945 that would force Japan to surrender and result in the end of World War II.  They then traveled by bullet train to Osaka, Japan where this leg's roadblock required a team member to play a modified version of the Japanese game show Bring That Chicken Home which consists of contestants running on a treadmill to catch 3 hanging chickens, and jump at the end the treadmill.  This leg's detour was a choice between playing a sushi version of bingo which required teams to get 5 pieces of sushi in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to call out SUSHI, and then eat the 5 winning pieces of sushi to receive their next clue, or convincing 10 people found on the streets of Osaka to have their picture taken behind sumo cut outs.  Being a vegetarian, I would have immediately chosen the sumo picture side of the detour if I were on the show.  The pit stop for this leg was the Osaka Castle where Ralph/Vanessa were eliminated making me root for Art/JJ out of a lack of better options.

The final leg of The Amazing Race 20 started with the final 3 teams flying to Honolulu, Hawaii, USA where they went to the Makai Tower which they were required to climb up to the roof, where they had to scout the area to find their next clue which was at Sand Island, and rappel down to street level after finding it.  Once at Sand Island, they encountered this leg's 1st roadblock which required a team member to shave ice using a traditional katana to receive their next clue. They then went to a nearby baseball field to fly via helicopter to Oahu's North Shore where they were required to perform a search and rescue mission.  Brendon/Rachel didn't read the clue properly, and mistakenly wasted time by hiring a taxi driver to take to the wrong baseball field and had to go all the way back to Sand Island to catch their helicopter.   The teams then went to the Coral Kingdom in Hakipu'u Valley where this season's final roadblock required the team member who didn't participate in the ice shaving roadblock to sled down a hill without falling out, and play lava rock bowling.  Once they successfully sledded down the hill and bowled the lava rock into the target, they would receive their final clue instructing them to paddle a boat across the river to the finish line at Secret Island.  Dave/Rachel accidentally skipped the final roadblock, but managed to find the boats and thus the finish line by chance.  When Dave/Rachel arrived at the finish line, Phil Keoghan told them they had to go back and complete the final roadblock before he could check them in at the finish line.  Luckily for Dave/Rachel, Art of Art/JJ couldn't stop falling out his sled, and struggled to the point where Dave/Rachel still managed to properly check in at the finish line first and win The Amazing Race 20's $1,000,000 prize.  Although it was a good finale, I would suggest that the producers bring back the memory challenge for the final roadblock next season.

Hello World

My name is Willy Gatti just in case you haven't figured it out already, and this is my 2nd blog about my life.  My 1st blog can be found at realitytvetc.blogspot.com which was last updated in 2010, and therefore will probably no longer be updated, but I have no intentions on deleting it.  Think of this as a long awaited continuation of my old blog, but at a different URL as I find it easier to simply start fresh.
